The cylindrical base, built from poplar plywood and wrapped by hand in strips of solid American walnut, reads as a single continuous form, as if carved from one piece of wood rather than assembled. A conical burnished brass edge finishes the base with quiet precision, the only material shift in an otherwise singular gesture. The 5 cm-thick solid wood frame that borders the tabletop reinforces the sense of weight and intention. Ceccotti Collezioni, a Tuscan atelier with generations of woodworking knowledge behind it, brings a level of craft to the joinery and surface finishing that is legible even at a distance.
