About This Collection:Homecoming, Bri Custer's new series, marks her return to the seacoast after five years in Concord, New Hampshire. These paintings hold the landscapes that hav e long shaped her work: Wagon Hill Farm in Durham, Parker River, Plum Island, and the nameless little views caught from the side of the road. Custer works both en plein air and from memory, treating the gap between looking and mark-making as an opening rather than a limitation — a wildly bold pink, a slant of light exaggerated to the point of distortion.Her paintings have been featured by Hyperallergic and Create! Magazine, and shown at galleries in Providence, RI, Westport, CT and online through PxP Contemporary.
