Patterns like hats, shirts, shorts, jackets, and other apparel all may require interfacing. Pellon PLF36 Fusible Interfacing is an ultra lightweight interfacing for light to medium-weight fabrics. It is great for wovens, knits, and technical apparel fabrics because of the stability that it offers to the garment. Fusible interfacing is unique because of the two distinct sides that it has. The face is a non-woven with no notable coating. The wrong side of the material has an adhesive that makes it fusible. This type of interfacing may be helpful when you need a clean connection between the fabric and the interfacing without any separation or bellowing. Features: 100% Polyester. Buyer shall (i) assume such liability; and (ii) verify the information and the products. How to Use 1. Trim & Steam-Baste: Pin pattern piece to interfacing following the grainline arrow. Trim the interfacing down to be slightly bigger than the pattern piece. Trim seam allowances to 1/4" (6mm). Next, place fusible side of Pellon on wrong side of fabric Pin, then steam-baste along the edges with tip of iron. Remove pins. 2. Cover With a Damp Cloth: Set iron on Low/Permanent Press setting. ALWAYS COVER WITH A DAMP PRESS CLOTH AND PRESS DOWN FIRMLY FOR 10 SECONDS. Repeat, lifting (do not drag) and slightly overlapping iron until all interfacing is fused. Steam, press on right side. Let fabric cool, then check bond. Use steam iron with metal sole plate. Hand-held steamers will not permanently bond interfacing to fabric. Tip: There is no preshrinking required. Always pre-test with a swatch of fabric to make sure it is compatible with the interfacing. Fusing not recommended for lace, seersucker, or rainwear.
