Fusilade II Turf and Ornamental Herbicide Fusilade II Turf and Ornamental Herbicide is a selective systemic post-emergent herbicide containing 24.5% fluazifop-P-butyl for control of labeled annual and perennial grass weeds. Its Group 1 ACCase-inhibitor activity moves from treated foliage into shoots, roots, rhizomes, stolons, and growing points, providing complete systemic activity against susceptible grasses. Fusilade II is labeled for selective grass control in zoysiagrass, fine fescue, and tall fescue turf, as well as numerous listed ornamentals, landscapes, nurseries, greenhouses, roadsides, parks, sports fields, golf courses, and noncrop areas. It may be applied over the top of specifically labeled ornamentals or as a directed spray and becomes rainfast one hour after application. Additional labeled sites include landscapes, roadsides, nurseries, greenhouses, flower beds, groundcovers, interiorscapes, parks, sports fields, tree farms, Christmas tree plantings, commercial sod farms, rights-of-way, utility areas, cemeteries, airports, storage yards, fence lines, and other listed noncrop areas. Over-the-top use is restricted to ornamental plants identified as tolerant on the label. Target Weeds Labeled grass weeds include bermudagrass, barnyardgrass, broadleaf signalgrass, large crabgrass, smooth crabgrass, southern crabgrass, tropical crabgrass, downy brome, fall panicum, field sandbur, giant foxtail, green foxtail, yellow foxtail, goosegrass, seedling guineagrass, Italian ryegrass, itchgrass, rhizome and seedling johnsongrass, junglerice, kikuyugrass where permitted, prairie cupgrass, quackgrass, rabbitfootgrass, red rice, shattercane, sorghum almum, southern sandbur, southwestern cupgrass, Texas panicum, torpedograss, wild proso millet, witchgrass, wild oats, wirestem muhly, woolly cupgrass, and labeled volunteer cereals. Fusilade II does not control broadleaf weeds or sedges. Application Notes Apply Fusilade II to young, actively growing grass weeds before they exceed the growth stages listed on the label. Use 1 to 2 gallons of finished spray per 1,000 square feet and obtain thorough foliage coverage. Always include a high-quality nonionic surfactant containing at least 75% surface-active agent at the labeled concentration. Prosurf 90 may be used when its product label confirms that it meets these requirements. For general grass suppression or control in zoysiagrass, fine fescue, and tall fescue, the label provides rates of 3 to 6 fluid ounces per acre at approximately 28-day intervals. More specific programs include 3 to 4 fluid ounces per acre on zoysiagrass, 5 to 6 fluid ounces per acre on tall fescue, and 8 to 16 fluid ounces per acre on fine fescue. Turf rates, timing, and tolerance vary substantially; avoid stressed turf and follow the specific program for the desirable grass. For labeled landscapes and ornamentals, apply 16 to 24 fluid ounces per acre, equivalent to 0.4 to 0.6 fluid ounce per 1,000 square feet, with 0.25% nonionic surfactant. Do not use crop oil concentrate on ornamentals. Spot treatments and directed-spray mixtures listed on the label are not for use on turfgrass. Do not apply through an irrigation system.
