I’ll take the regional charm and charisma of these two groups (not to mention the Bad Habit Record store/label and surrounding community) on this 7" over what could be considered "innovation" in distorted guitar music circa 2022. There's something about this split between Darwin's Fuxache and Brisbane's Skirmisher that feels endearing and exciting, like they're grinding against social media era self optimised hustle culture by making crude powerviolence with their interstate mates.
