Gaillardia, commonly known as blanket flower or firewheel, is a hardy flowering perennial prized for its bright daisy-like blooms in shades of red, orange, yellow, and combinations of these colors. It thrives in full sun, heat, drought, sandy soils, and even moderately salty conditions, making it a low-maintenance choice for sunny landscapes. Its flowers are especially attractive to butterflies and other pollinators. Care Needs:• Light: Full sun• Water: Water regularly until established; once established, allow soil to dry between waterings and avoid overwatering• Pruning: Remove spent flowers to encourage continued blooming; cut back old growth as needed• Fertilizer: Generally requires little fertilizer; excessive feeding can encourage foliage over flowers Show more
