Most hooks open up because the hook hasn't penetrated to the base of the shank, leading to a wrong placement in the fishes' mouth. I noticed that the penetration is really better with the coating and the hook penetrates deeper until the base of the shank. I use this around reefy areas to target coral trout, groupers and snappers. Using a sliding sinker or a bullet sinker, rigged in a Texas rig style, I bounce and bottom hop the seabed with different soft plastics in a tensioned fall.
