GAN-09 – The Last Stand at Gandamak – 44th Regiment of Foot – 4 Pieces Snow, exhaustion, dwindling ammunition and repeated attacks had reduced the retreating force from Kabul to a tiny fraction of its original strength by the time it reached Gandamak on 13 January 1842. There, men of the 44th (East Essex) Regiment of Foot and other survivors attempted a final resistance. GAN-09, from the 20th Anniversary Limited Edition Series, is a substantial four-piece set representing members of the 44th during this desperate last action.
