In April of 2019, based on the recommendation of our farm consultant, we installed a 6″ Greenfield Water irrigation device on our 36 acre two year old, all natural almond farm. He said the water structuring device would enhance root hydration and eliminate salt build up in the soil. Prior to installing the unit, we had a major mishap on the farm that led to deficit watering for the entire summer when temperatures were well over 100 degrees in the sandy desert soil. During this time the trees received only 25% of their required water and as a result, the trees were burnt severely. Our consultant believed the damage was so severe that we would most likely lose half our trees. We were told at best case if the trees lived, we would not have a crop for the following year. We called our nursery field rep and he agreed with our farm consultants assessment. In spite of these dire conditions of deficient water and high temperatures, the trees bloomed this year and are thriving.
