ERR2026 is the cylinder block side cover gasket for the Land Rover 300Tdi engine, sealing the timing-side cover plate against the cylinder block to prevent oil leakage. This gasket maintains oil pressure integrity within the engine and prevents contamination ingress at the block face. Failure of this seal typically presents as external oil weeping along the lower front of the engine, and should be replaced whenever the side cover is removed for access to the timing components or oil pump.
