The Gather Bench Walnut by Magnus Long is designed for everyday use, combining straightforward construction and robust detailing. The design of the bench is based on the simple act of bringing people together and is defined by an exposed through-tenon joint - a detail that is structural as much as it is visual. The bench is designed to be used with the corresponding table, but also works well as a standalone piece. Important: Matching benches are 25cm shorter than the table size, for example, 160cm Table & 135cm Bench, 180cm Table & 155cm Bench etc. The wider Gather Collection comprises dining tables and a bench in solid oak and walnut. The tables are available in round, square and rectangular formats with a wide range of size options to suit small kitchens, or larger dining rooms. Designer: Magnus Long is a British industrial designer based in London, working within furniture, product and lighting design. A celebrated name in British design, Long was awarded a Design Guild Mark Award in 2015 for his Cross Leg Lounge Chair. Materials & Finishes: The Gather Bench Walnut is made from solid American Walnut with galvanised steel reinforcement bars. Each bench is offered with a choice of either an oiled or lacquered finish, with black resin-filled or natural (open) knots.
