The tracks included on Gathered Between were originally recorded after the production of Dday One's second album, Heavy Migration. However, due to a hard drive failure, the album data was lost, and only a handful of surviving songs ended up on a now-hard-to-find compilation album. In early 2015, while revisiting rough demos from that time, Dday resolved to reconstruct Gathered Between relying solely on fragments of memory. He dug back into his record collection, rediscovering samples. Employing classic samplers and his own techniques, he reconstructed each beat, much like an audio archaeologist. The album cover photo, depicting a bird flying between an old building and a modern structure, symbolizes the fusion of nature and architecture, and the transitional spirit of rediscovering what was lost.Gathered Between by Dday One
