Suggested pelt layouts for beaver, coyote, otter, raccoon, fox and bobcat. Full video tutorial included. All fur required to make these gauntlet mittens available here! $89.95 each Allow 3-4 weeks for delivery Mitten Supplies ● Pelts - to ensure softness and longevity professional garment/soft tanned pelts are recommended ● Pelt size and quantity will vary greatly based on species and mitten size ● General Guidelines for XL mittens: ● Beaver, Coyote, Otter: 2 large pelts ● Raccoon, Fox, Bobcat: 4 Large pelts ● Buckskin or other soft leather (moose, or upholstery cowhide) for palms ● Lining fabric -polyester polar fleece is recommended for the pattern, if you are using wool you may need to size up ● Non-stretch fabric for sewing test mitten -upholstery fabric works well (Joann Fabrics) ● Heavyweight Cotton Twill Tape 1 ¼” width (1 ½” will work too, and may be easier to find), 2 yards -or other binding material- ● Sharp blade for cutting hide: Furrier knife , scalpel, Xacto blade, utility knife ● Extra blades ● Thread ● Hand sewing thread: polyester or nylon upholstery weight thread, such as Coats & Clark Upholstery Thread, bonded nylon size #46 or similar ● Fur Machine sewing thread: whatever works well in your machine. I like bonded nylon size #46 for sewing beaver mittens.
