All fur required to make this available here! $89.95 each Allow 3-4 weeks for delivery Fur Pillbox & Davey Crockett Hat Supplies ● Prime pelts (to ensure softness and longevity, professional garment/soft tanned pelts are recommended) ● Pelt size and quantity needed will vary based on species, pelt size, and hat size ● General Guidelines for Pillbox and Davey Crockett Hats ● If you’re making the Davey Crockett hat, make sure the face of the pelt isn’t damaged ● Beaver 1 Medium pelt ● Coyote 1 Large pelt ● Otter 1 XL pelt ● Raccoon 1 XL pelt ● Fox: 1 XL pelt ● Muskrat: 2 XXXL + 1 Large pelt ● Skunk: 3 Large pelts ● Lining fabric: polyester fleece is recommended, ½ yard will line 2 or more hats depending on size ● Non-stretch fabric to sew test hat, upholstery fabric works well ½ yard will make 2 or more trial hats depending on size ● “Hudson 43 Velvet Multi Purpose Home Decor Fabric 55" wide” is my favorite fabric for testing size, but any heavy weight non-stretch fabric will work ● Thread ● Hand sewing thread ● Polyester or nylon upholstery weight thread, such as Coats & Clark Upholstery Thread, bonded nylon size #46 or similar ● Fur machine sewing thread ● Whatever works well in your machine. I like New Bedford Glazed Cotton, size 80 for beaver and otter, size 100 for coyote, and size 120 for fox . All-purpose polyester thread may also be used in the fur sewing machine as a lower-cost alternative. ● Home sewing machine thread ● All-purpose polyester thread - if using a home sewing machine to sew the lining. ● Needles ● Hand sewing ● Glovers needle size 003 or similar ● Optional: Sharps hand sewing needle size 007 or similar to sew lining
