Grape: NebbioloVintage: 2020Type: Red This low-intervention red wine is a pure varietal expression of the Nebbiolo grape produced by radical winemaker Fabio Gea near Barbaresco. The old bush vines are rooted in the sandy, marl-rich soils of Bricco di Neive, managed under organic viticulture guidelines. The hand-harvested fruit is destemmed and fermented spontaneously with native wild yeasts, avoiding modern extraction adjustments or new oak barrel contact. It undergoes a natural maturation process inside Gea's custom stoneware jars before being bottled without filtration. It displays a translucent ruby hue, releasing a rustic bouquet of wild raspberries, red currants, and dried rose petals. On the palate, the light-to-medium body feels compact and tightly wound, balancing red fruit energy with a serious structural line. Savory notes of damp earth and cracked black pepper blend with an underlying mineral salinity. A clean wave of mountain acidity cuts through the texture, maintaining great freshness.
