The Gem Sconce's design emerged from a series of sketches designer Christopher Merchant created while wandering through the Brooklyn Botanic Garden. Captivated by the surrounding a rchitecture and lush gardens, he found particular inspiration in the geometric beauty of the greenhouses. These sketches also evoked a cherished childhood memory of sunlight filtering through glass bricks at a pool, making the Gem Sconce a tangible expression of past and present inspirations.
