General Purpose Knife Crafted from carbon steel, this general purpose style knife can be used for a variety of tasks on a daily basis. The blade is satin finished showing the bevel s of the blade and showcasing the lines of the knife while reducing its reflective glare. The timber handle is Black Maire. Black Maire is hard (probably New Zealand’s hardest wood), heavy and strong, and is extremely durable. It was used by early European settlers as a substitute for lignum vitae for bearings and pulley blocks. Maori used it for digging sticks, wedges for splitting wood, canoe paddles and bailers, beaters and mallets. This knife does not come with a sheath. However, a custom leather sheath may be purchased separately from our online store.
