Protoreaster linckii Not Reef Safe The Red General Starfish, also known as the Red Knob Sea Star, has a thick body with red horns on its legs. Though when small, it eats algae; whe n it grows older, it is not reef safe and will eat corals, sponges, tubeworms, clams, starfishes and other invertebrates. They should be fed chopped clams, shrimp, fish, and squid once a week. These inverts are for saltwater aquariums only. Due to variations within species, your item may not look identical to the image.
