Worldview “Only 1% of American millennials under 30 years of age have a biblical worldview (down from 2% in 2019, and down from 12% in 1995).” Source: Arizona Christian University and Barna Research Group 1. Know the Essentials of a Christian Worldview For lack of rooting and grounding in the truths of God’s Word, only 1% of millennials (as of 2023) hold to a biblical worldview, even though 56% still refer to themselves as Christians. Here is a short course for every believer and every young student of the Word of God on the basics of the Christian faith. Without delving too deeply into the intramural conflicts within Christianity, this book lays down the line of demarcation between the Thesis of truth, and the Antithesis of demonically contrived worldviews that have ensnared the whole world. Kevin Swanson lays down what he calls “trunk faith” or the essential truths every Christian must believe, without getting too caught up in the “leaves” or the minor differences between Christian groups. What distinguishes the Christian faith from the false religions and the bad worldviews that make up the rest of the world? This course gets down to the basics concerning the nature of truth, the nature of God, the nature of man, origins, ethics, sin, salvation, sociology, and teleology. This is theology 101 for the young believer. 2. Know the Rudiments of Competing Worldviews “God made man upright, but they have sought out many schemes” (Eccl. 7:29). Now, how does the Christian worldview line up against competing worldviews, and where and how do they fall short? Young people today are subjected to a thousand competing voices through media, academia, and peers. They are too easily “cheated through philosophy and empty deceit according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ” (Col. 2:8). This book sets out to expose these vain philosophies, and to make way for the truth. The light shines in the darkness. The falsehoods must be exposed, and the truth must prevail. 3. Know How to Give an Answer for the Hope in You We are challenged to “cast down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ” (2 Cor. 10:5). This course will also introduce basic apologetics for the Christian believer. What does the Bible Say About That? In this exciting new worldview curriculum for children, Kevin Swanson presents the very basics of a Biblical worldview for children. At some point, every child needs to see the 'forest from the trees.' This introduction to a biblical worldview will help kids make sense of the world around them, and it shows them the big picture of God's truth in the Bible. Presented in a simple, engaging way, this study guide provides a basic introduction to truth, ethics, origins, causality, anthropology, sociology, family, church, civil government, education, economics, defense, crime, and charity. Workbook assignments, games, puzzles, and more are included at the end of each chapter. Recommended for Ages 9+. Scripture Version: NKJV. The Tattooed Jesus Would Jesus tattoo Leviticus 19:28 on his left thigh? Some Christians consider it borderline blasphemy to even ask the question. Others are delighted to answer the question in the affirmative. Both parties can't be right. In an age of Western apostasy, it should come as no surprise to find cultural apostasy leading the way. In this pungent little book, Kevin Swanson challenges the modern Christians that capitulate to the post-Christian worldviews and cultural expressions. He doggedly refuses to separate worldviews and culture, pressing hard for repentance, or a change of worldview in the mind of the reader. Christians are too easily ruined by philosophy and vain deceit after the tradition of men (Col. 2:8), because they are not discerning of bad ideas and bad cultural devices. Kevin Swanson addresses such varying topics as major motion pictures, popular music, country music, eastern medicine, tattoos, computer games, horror literature, fantasy, sports, super heroes, Contemporary Christian Music, Hip Hop, Thomas Kinkade, Harry Potter, Jack Bauer, Sesame Street, and the Hunger Games. Worldviews in Conflict Recommended for a Senior High School or College Entry Level Literature Course. Every Christian student should understand the writings that formed the modern world and undermined the Christian foundations in the West. The Christian student should be well equipped to engage the battle of the worldviews before he or she enters adulthood. It is extremely dangerous when a Christian student is taught to accept the 'great' thinkers and writers uncritically, whether it be Karl Marx, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Nathaniel Hawthorne, or Steven Spielberg. That is why this curriculum is so needed. The great thinkers and the liberal arts programs have led millions of Christian young people astray over the centuries. This course presents a basic introduction to, and critical analysis of, the philosophers, the literary masters, and the cultural influencers of the last three hundred years. A refreshing improvement of most philosophy and literature courses, this course is filled with relevant biblical references and truths that address the false worldviews of the 'great' secular humanist works. Epoch: The Rise and Fall of the West The rise of the Christian West was spectacular. The fall of the West was similarly spectacular, especially for those who witnessed it firsthand. But the rise was more spectacular than its fall. That's the conclusion drawn in this epochal story of the Western world. The fall of Western civilization constitutes the most significant seismic shift in world history since the fall of Rome. And, such eschatological developments call for an immediate response — an extended explanation based in a definitive Christian interpretive framework. What conclusions should Christians draw from this cataclysmic event? The timing was never better for a 2,000 year survey of the rise and fall of the Christian West. We are living in a moment when we must understand the times in order to know what to do, and how to respond. The West has already fallen, although the news has yet to sink in with most Europeans and Americans in 2021. The East is on the rise. The Christian faith is fast moving east and south, and the glory has departed from the West. Epoch carefully chronicles the phenomenal impact of Jesus Christ and His people upon the culture, economy, religious character, charitable institutions, educational systems, science and technology, and worldview of the Western world—and the West's subsequent impact upon the whole earth. The book then traces the devastating decline and fall of a civilization, identifying the principal defectors and key provocateurs along the way. The story plays out at a good clip for maximized efficiency, impact, and clarity. Author Kevin Swanson zeroes in on the most defining events and persons that would eventually make or break a civilization and the faith that ungirded it. The battle for the soul of Western civilization continued for a thousand years. As the smoke clears on the field, the survivors should be aware of the chief breaking points that brought about the demise of the West, such as the fateful forgery devised in Rheims, the Fourth Lateran Council, the Dum Diversas bull of 1452, the publication of Darwin's Descent of Man and Keynes' Economic Consequences of Peace, and more. Yet, the war is not over yet. The world goes on. So Epoch concludes with an international vision for the Christian church, and a clarion call for Christians to press forward in the work of discipling the nations in the generations to come.
