High quality Sencha from Kyoto Prefecture is mixed with roasted and popped brown rice to produce our Genmaicha. Unlike many blends of Genmaicha on the market which use Bancha (seco nd harvest) tea as the main ingredient. Genmaicha originated as a peasants drink, where rice was originally added to make the tea go further. However it is now popular in its own right. The addition of the rice produces a wonderful balance of toasty flavours blended with the fresh bright green tea. Naturally low in caffeine, it is an ideal tea to drink in the evenings, and goes well with food. Show more
