This can be used to replace an inoperable socket or to change from a different socket type. The 2020 Defenders came with USB-A (regular USB sockets) - from 2021 onwards Land Rover changed these to USB-C sockets. USB-C has become the industry standard data/power connection. The power sockets in the Defender are interchangeable so you can change the USB-A (old type) or cigarette lighter type sockets to USB-C. There are 5 locations that use the same fitting - one in the front passenger dash tray and then 4 in the rear below the rear air vents.
