Geodes is a foundation paper pieced design by Quiltworx and is part of our Fireworks Block Mixer Series. Foundation paper piecing, floating points, Template Layout Sheets, and curv ed paper piecing techniques for attaching the curved sashing are all featured in these instructions. After the paper piecing is completed, traditional curved piecing is required to assemble the blocks. Geodes is fun to make and easily adapted to using strips and background fabric from your own stash if you like. This pattern makes ?? Expanding your Geodes quilt can be accomplished by not completing the final assembly steps, and instead using Templates XR-1, XR-2, XL-1, and XL-2 included in the pattern to create a border that will bring the center to 68″ square.
