Harlem-born George Braith played the stritch and saxello simultaneously, a technique he developed himself that placed him in genuinely singular territory during Blue Note's most fe rtile early-60s creative period. His three sessions for the label document an artist pushing hard against the edges of soul jazz, and *Extension* captures that restless energy alongside some of the heaviest rhythm players in the game.
