Updated on July 3: This has been sold. Portrait of George Washington, after Gilbert Stuart, in an oval, solid wood frame. Note that I don't believe that this was painted on this bo ard, but rather was an image applied and then layers of varnish (?) were applied over it. It is a very attractive piece, and unlike modern attempts to create something that looks old, this one succeeds, and it succeeds in a very dignified way that fits the subject.
