Our native woodland geranium has pinkish lavender flowers that fade to nearly white with yellow centers. They bloom for weeks in mid-spring to early summer. Its leaves are deeply w ith multiple lobes and are very attractive. During extreme heat and dry conditions, the foliage may yellow and cutting them back will rejuvenate them. Geraniums are host to 23 species of butterflies and moths. It grows well in just about any soil except wet. It gently colonizes an area through its rhizomes.
