Do Thunderstorms or Fireworks Send Your German Shorthaired Pointer Diving Under the Sofa (Or Trying To?) Your German Shorthair (Wirehair) may be a field-tested gun dog, but that do es not guarantee they won't be afraid of thunder, fireworks, or being left alone. Remember, just like people have certain situations that trigger stress (such as spiders, snakes, heights, public speaking, mice (nasty, little scurrying vermin), so do our dogs. You may even wonder why a dog bred for hunting would be afraid of loud noises? Hunting dogs are trained to anticipate the sound of gunshots when they see the hunters raise the gun, they know there will be a loud noise and prepare themselves. They get no warning for fireworks or thunder. The surprise of the loud sound scares them. Relax Dog Aromatherapy uses a soothing blend of time-tested essential oils to alleviate your dog's anxiety and take the edge off anxiety. While not a Doggie Downer (and not supposed to be), Relax Dog Aromatherapy calms your dog and allows them to make it through the scary event with less stress and terror. They will probably never enjoy the 4th of July, but they can survive the day with less stress. Bliss Bit! Of course, this Relax Dog Aromatherapy shows a German Shorthaired and a German Wirehaired Pointer on the labels, and we respect both breeds. We use a variety of names to help you find us via search engines. We know their full AKC names, but use them all for SEO. Show more
