A good watercolour brush is a joy to work with. Each brush has it's own character and will behave differently, especially across different styles and hair materials. I highly recom mend taking time get to know your brushes. Get a load of paper out, plenty of water and pigment, all of your brushes, and then play! See how the different brushes mix paint: How much water and pigment do they hold? How do the release the pigment? How do they respond to different pressures and hand movements, and twists and turns of the brushes? Watercolour is very much characterised by brushwork, so taking this time to get to know and love your brushes is well worth the effort, and as always, have fun with them!! Show more
