GG60-07 – 60th King's Royal Rifles The Battle of Gingindlovu was fought on 2 April 1879 as Lord Chelmsford's relief force advanced towards Eshowe. The British had established a for tified position, and when a large Zulu force attacked, the defenders relied upon disciplined rifle fire and supporting weapons to hold the perimeter. GG60-07 – 60th King's Royal Rifles represents troops from the 3rd Battalion during this stage of the campaign.
