GGNEW-01 – Newcastle Mounted Rifles – 2 Pieces The Anglo-Zulu War brought together regular British troops and a diverse assortment of locally raised volunteer units. The Newcastle Mounted Rifles were one of these colonial formations, representing the mounted volunteers available to support operations in Natal and Zululand. GGNEW-01 contains two Newcastle Mounted Rifles figures, introducing another less commonly represented unit to the collection. For collectors seeking to build more than the familiar red-coated British infantry line, sets such as this are particularly valuable. They help show the real variety of men and units caught up in the campaign of 1879. Available from The Military Workshop – a fascinating John Jenkins Designs two-piece set representing the Newcastle Mounted Rifles. Show more
