The vast majority of Prosecco and other Veneto sparklers in the US are juice from chemically farmed, machine harvested Glera, aged 3-4 weeks on lees, which is then rushed through t he winemaking process in a few short months. It's a system driven by cost-cutting and cash flow. "Gia" is the opposite: a long aged sparkling wine with real depth, zero sugar, and the product of single vineyard, certified organic, truly top tier real estate. The grapes are hand-harvested, and juice is slooooooowly vinified for 1.5 years. The result is a uniquely complex, balanced, and pure sparkling wine. Show more
