Incentive Create a giant Easter egg using shapes and colours. -Line-Shape-Space-Colour Supplies A3 paper with large egg shape printed on it Oultine of Egg with triangles [download] Oultine of Egg with diamonds [download] Oultine of Egg with hexagons [download] Black Backing paper Lead pencil Ruler Coloured pencils Scissors Black ribbon Craft / PVA Glue Lesson 1 In lead pencil, draw a shape that has straight lines and corners consistently over the entire egg. If children are too young for this have triangle or squares printed on the giant egg before giving it to child. (see below lesson for PDF downloads). 2 Each shape has its corners. Each shape will have one colour. Press heavily in the three or four corners of the shape, moving from the corner outwards slightly. Repeat this in the same shape but much lighter the second time. Leave the centre of each shape white. 3 Repeat this all over the egg with different colours. 4 Cut out egg and glue onto black background. 5 Cut out egg again. This time leaving a one centimeter black border around the egg. 6 Cut a narrow strip out of the left over black paper for the centre ribbon. Measure to fit across the egg and cut it. 7 Tie a small black curling ribbon in the centre of the black strip. 8 Glue this long strip across the centre of the egg. 9 Display on white or send home with an Easter message pasted on the back.
