The outer bars are spaced to protect the mealworms from other larger birds, al lowing the bluebirds to feast in peace! One bar is removable for training the birds to enter this feeder. Outer dimensions are 12.5" W x 12.5" D x 3.75" H with the hanging wire adding another 12" to the height.
