Some fragrances are created. Others are finally captured. This one lived in my collection for years before it ever became a perfume. I kept it cherished, protected, a little hoarded. For more than two decades it was the heart of our Ginger Goat Milk soap, and in all that time, through samples from every supplier I could find, nothing else came close. Not the warmth. Not the brightness. Not that soft creamy thing it does on the back end. Eventually I had to retire the soap, because the fragrance had become too scarce to pour into full production batches, and I would not swap in something lesser just to keep the label alive. It began as a love of the original Ginger Milk by Thymes, long discontinued now and missed by the people who knew it. What I have made is an interpretation, and I will say plainly that I think mine is better. It opens with lime and fresh ginger, a sparkling lift that is gently spicy and never sharp. Tamarind threads a quiet tartness underneath. Cucumber keeps it dewy and clean. Then it settles, and soft vanilla and ambrette do the rest, the part I think of as the actual milk: smooth, a little musky, comforting, quietly sensual. The perfumery house I sourced the heart of this fragrance from has since closed. I bought the last of what they had and sat with it for almost a year before I trusted myself to blend it. When this batch is gone, it is gone. I will keep chasing beautiful things, that is the whole job, but I do not expect to find this exact scent again. Of everything we make, this is the one I reach for when I am not thinking about selling anything. It is just the one I love. — Emily Whitlock, Co-Founder & Formulator The Notes Opening Lime and fresh ginger. Bright, a little spicy, awake. Heart Tamarind and cucumber. A whisper of tartness, a clean dewy coolness underneath. Dry-down Soft vanilla and ambrette musk. The creamy, skin-close warmth that gives Ginger Milk its name. Mood: fresh, creamy, softly spiced, comforting. Built, like every Em'z Blendz scent, on a phthalate-free fragrance base. No exceptions, no shortcuts. Why You'll Love It It smells like comfort with a pulse. Warm and creamy, but the ginger and lime keep it bright. It never goes flat or sleepy on the skin. Unisex, genuinely. Not "marketed unisex." The soft-spice-and-musk structure reads beautifully on anyone. It is the only way to wear this scent again. The Thymes original is long gone, and the supply behind ours is finite. How to Use It This is a true eau de parfum, so a little carries. Two light sprays at the pulse points: the wrists, the base of the throat, the warm hollow behind the ear. Let it dry on its own. Resist the urge to rub your wrists together. It blooms slowly and stays close to the skin, the way the best comfortable scents do. The 10ml travels well if you want to keep it with you. Final Release: This is a one-time, limited batch. The fragrance behind it can no longer be sourced. When it sells out, it will not be restocked. Some things you do not get a second chance to smell. This is one of them.
