This Gitane D-500 Grande Bouche is a 1930s Selmer/Maccaferri-style gypsy jazz guitar with a high gloss finish and soft-horizontal cutaway. Featuring a "Grande Bouche," or a large D-shaped soundhole, it has a bright attack and quick response, as well as a warm and ambient tone. This is made with a solid Spruce top with an orange-colored Cremona stain and laminated Rosewood back and sides. The neck is Mahogany and fingerboard is Ebony, and not only does this have 24 frets, it also has the zero fret, allowing open and barre chords to resonate more clearly. Top it off with a slotted headstock, mustache-style bridge, brass tailpiece, and multi-wood binding, and the Gitane D-500 Grande Bouche is a traditional gypsy jazz guitar in a modern package.
