In an effort to strengthen traditional Japanese glassware styles and techniques, this collection preserves the production methods of the Taisho era (1912 - 1926) to the current times. Individually moulded using Aburidashi; a rare technique originating from the Meiji period. Aburidashi involves the addition of bone ash and an application of a sudden increase in temperature during the moulding process. Developing an opalescent pattern that beautifully depicts various traditional Japanese patterns on the surface. This fourth-generation glassware studio are the only makers still utilising this technique. Marrying traditional European glass manufacturing methods with Japanese artistry and a creative distinction that explores handcrafted glass to its artistic limits, whilst staying true to classic Japanese influences. This is special glassware brought about by skilled craftsmen and precise patterned moulds. Perfect for drinking any cold beverage, with the pattern revealing itself subtly when containing coloured beverages. 300ML
