This piece is inspired by Glaucus atlanticus, a tiny sea slug better known as the Blue Dragon. It feeds on venomous siphonophores, including the Portuguese man-of-war, but instead of simply surviving their sting, Glaucus stores their stinging cells in its own body and uses them for its own defense. This ability became the central meaning behind the piece: taking something that could harm you and turning it into your own protection. That’s why I see this piece as a kind of talisman — not against danger itself, but as a symbol of the ability to transform it into your own strength. Handcrafted in 925 sterling silver and finished with rhodium plating to help preserve its shine over time. The pendant hangs on a 45cm chain with a 5cm extension, allowing for a personalized fit.
