What this means is that the product automatically turns on when placed in liquid and automatically turns off when removed from liquid. Only the time that the product is lighted will count against the battery life. On average, a Glo Pals Light Up Cube should last for several weeks. To meet applicable USA and EU safety standards, and to make sure your child doesn't accidentally ingest a coin cell battery, the batteries are sealed for safety. To Glo Pals, safety is by far the most important, and we want to make sure your child is safe with our product. Even though the Pals are not replaceable, they have worked hard to find a balance between battery life, safety, and price. How Do I Dispose of the Glo Pal Light Up Cubes? The Glo Pal Light Up Cubes are recyclable, and we encourage you to recycle whenever possible. The Glo Pal Light Up Cubes are considered electronic waste and should be recycled at a proper e-waste facility. Typically, anywhere that recycles batteries, specifically coin cell batteries, will take the Glo Pal Light Up Cubes. How Do We Store The Glo Pal Light Up Cubes When Not In Use? It is very important that the Glo Pal Light Up Cubes are removed from liquid and dried when not in use. Typically, removing the Pals from liquid, giving them a quick shake, and setting them out to dry will help increase the lifespan of the Pals. However, here are some more important tips: First, turn the lights off when bath/play time is over and check to see if there is any light still coming from the Pals after they have been removed from liquid If the Glo Pal Light Up Cube does not turn off completely when removed from water, blow through the small slots below the top and bottom of the Pal's face. This should dry off the liquid activation sensor. Place the Pals on their side after removed from liquid. This will help them to dry more quickly. Bath bombs, bath salts, excess soaps and shampoos can interfere with the Pal's liquid activation and cause the Pals to stay on when removed from water. If you have a stubborn Pal that still doesn't want to turn off, run this Pal under warm water and then try again to blow through the slots of the Glo Pal to get it to turn off.
