Gnatrol WDG Biological Larvicide Gnatrol WDG Biological Larvicide is a highly selective microbial insecticide containing 37.4% Bacillus thuringiensis subsp. israelensis (Bti), strain AM 65-52, for control of fungus gnat larvae in greenhouse, nursery, vegetable plant, ornamental, and other labeled production systems. Its water-dispersible granule formulation is applied to the growing media or soil where fungus gnat larvae are actively feeding. Gnatrol WDG is an IRAC Group 11A biological larvicide designed specifically for larval-stage control and is well suited to Integrated Pest Management and resistance-management programs. It is OMRI-listed for organic production, has a 4-hour restricted-entry interval, and can be applied by soil drench, drip irrigation, sprinkler irrigation, or other labeled chemigation methods. Features & Benefits ✓ Highly selective biological larvicide specifically designed for fungus gnat larvae ✓ Contains 37.4% Bacillus thuringiensis subsp. israelensis (Bti), strain AM 65-52 ✓ Fungus gnat larvae generally respond within 24 hours following application ✓ OMRI-listed for use in organic production ✓ 4-hour restricted-entry interval supports professional greenhouse and nursery production schedules ✓ Flexible application by soil drench, drip irrigation, sprinkler irrigation, and labeled chemigation systems ✓ Microbial IRAC Group 11A mode of action fits Integrated Pest Management and resistance-management programs Labeled Use Sites Gnatrol WDG is labeled for ornamental and nursery plantings in greenhouses and potting-soil mixtures, as well as vegetable plants including tomatoes, leafy and cole crops, cucumbers, peppers, and eggplants. It may also be used on plants intended for aesthetic purposes in interior plantscapes and indoor ornamental gardens. The product bulletin additionally identifies field-grown nursery, container-grown nursery, greenhouse, and edible production uses. Target Pests Gnatrol WDG is specifically labeled for control of fungus gnat larvae. It is a larvicide and does not control adult fungus gnats, so treatments should be timed to periods when larvae are present in the soil or growing media. Application Notes For light fungus gnat infestations, apply 3.2 to 6.4 oz per 100 gal of water as a soil drench. For heavy infestations, apply 13 to 26 oz per 100 gal. Use enough water to thoroughly wet the soil surface, including areas beneath greenhouse benches where fungus gnat larvae commonly breed. For established infestations where eggs, larvae, pupae, and adults are present, make three weekly applications at the heavy-infestation rate range, followed by maintenance treatments at the light-infestation rate as needed. For best results, apply drenches toward the end of the irrigation period. Do not apply soil drenches to stressed plants or follow treatment with excessive amounts of water. Gnatrol WDG should not be injected in combination with fertilizers or fungicides containing copper or chlorine because they may neutralize the active ingredient. Normal chlorine levels in potable water are not expected to interfere with performance. Always read and follow the complete product label.
