Go Berkey® Kit – Compact Stainless Steel Water Filter System The Go Berkey® Kit is the smallest stainless steel Berkey® gravity-fed water filter system. Designed for 1–2 people, its compact 1-quart size is well suited to desks, small kitchens, dorm rooms, offices, travel, and other spaces where a full-size Berkey system may not be practical. Made from polished AISI 304 stainless steel, the Go Berkey® uses one Black Berkey® Element and requires no electricity, plumbing, or water pressure. Fill the upper chamber, and gravity moves the water through the filtration element into the lower chamber. Black Berkey® Element The Go Berkey® Kit includes one Black Berkey® Element designed for use in Berkey® gravity-fed systems. Black Berkey® Elements are designed to reduce a broad range of substances that may be present in drinking water, including: Lead and mercury Chlorine and chloramines VOCs Trihalomethanes (THMs) Petroleum-related compounds Pharmaceutical residues Rust, sediment, and particulates The element is also designed to retain beneficial minerals such as calcium and magnesium and is rated for approximately 3,000 gallons before replacement is recommended. Important PF-2™ Compatibility Information The Go Berkey® is not compatible with PF-2™ Fluoride & Arsenic Reduction Elements. The compact lower chamber does not provide sufficient space for the PF-2™ post-filters. If PF-2™ compatibility is important to you, consider a larger compatible Berkey® system such as the Travel, Big, Royal, Imperial, or Crown Berkey®. Assembly and Operation Prime the Black Berkey® Element according to the included instructions before first use. Install the primed element in the upper chamber using the supplied washer and wing nut. Place the upper chamber onto the lower chamber. Fill the upper chamber with water. Allow gravity to move the water through the element and into the lower chamber. No electrical connection, plumbing installation, or water pressure is required. Care and Maintenance Prime the Black Berkey® Element before first use. Re-prime the element after extended storage when necessary. Clean the element when filtration flow noticeably decreases. Do not use soap or household cleaning chemicals on the filter element. Replace the element after approximately 3,000 gallons of use. Do not use the system with salt water. Do not use with salt-based softened water.
