A stunning mixture of gemstones and African Ashanti Glass beads. The process of making these beads is unique to Africa and has been used for over 1000 years. Pulverized glass of various colors is poured into a clay mold, using a cassava stem for the bead's hole. The mold is placed in a furnace and heated until the glass particles congeal without actually melting and the stem burns out. The Ghanaians have been making beads in this manner since the 1600s Standard length is 40cms and includes a 5cm extender chain (please contact me if you would like a custom size) Bead size is 8mm-10mm. Each piece is lovingly hand-strung and made to order, as such, please allow 5-7 days for your piece to be made and prepared for postage. Due to the natural nature of the stones there may be a slight difference in colour as shown. Care & Love Our pieces are 14k gold plated with a tarnish resistant coating however we recommend limiting wear in water and avoiding chemicals and perfumes. This will help retain the shine of the hardware and the lustre of the gemstones. Store in a dry place and clean with a soft cloth. Ali - La Sunzi x
