Two Optical Slave Modes Featuring two slave modes (S1/S2) the AR400 portable ring flash can also be triggered optically using another flash. S1 mode is best used when being triggered using a standard manual flash. S2 mode is best used with any flash that has a pre-flash (usually TTL flashes) as S2 mode will ignore the pre-flash and fire on the main flash. While not as reliable as using a trigger or a sync cable, it is always a great option to have.
