Grumpy used Chevrolet small block engines and won by trying unconventional, fine-tuned set ups. Jenkins won 113 NHRA drag racing events between 1965 and 1975. He ran two different paints schemes in 1966 on his Nova. His first car featured a red and white with red stripes across the roof, but it was destroyed in an accident coming home from the racetrack.
