The design of the Gogan Sofa is inspired by pebbles on riverbanks, worn smooth by the flow of water and often featured in Japanese ornamental gardens. The organic nature of the design is emphasised by the irregular shape of the seat and back, extra smooth edges and concealed seams. The buttress-like frame, visible at the back of the sofa, creates a sense of lightness by lifting the seat off the floor and creating a gap between the seat and the backrest. The result is a beautifully sculptural sofa which feels monumental and light at the same time, perfect for use in both residential and public areas.
