The Blue Gourami, Trichopodus trichopterus, is one of the more popular aquarium gouramis. It is a naturally-occurring colour morph of the same species as Threespot and Opaline gour amis, popular fish in their own right. Gold gouramis are peaceable fish but get large enough that very tiny tankmates such as the smallest tetras and rasboras are best avoided. These fish are very intelligent for their size and will come to recognize their owners, getting excited when they pass by the tank. Show more
