Trichopodus trichopterus, also known as the Blue or Threespot gourami, is one of the most common gouramis in the aquarium hobby. Many natural and line-bred morphs are available, su ch as the gold and opaline varieties. These mid-sized gouramis make good tankmates for most community fish, but should not be housed with tiny species such as smaller tetras or rasboras that could fit in their mouths.
