Goldstone is a manmade material, consisting of opaque rust-red glass with tiny flecks of glittering copper suspended within it. Goldstone was first created during the Italian Renai ssance when, as legend has it, a Venetian monk tipped molten copper into a vat of molten glass. When this combination crystallized, the result was glass permeated with thousands of tiny metallic sparkle.
