Oil on Canvas (12x16") This was painted as a challenge with my mother, who worked in watercolour while I tackled the same scene in oils. We wanted to explore how our individual sty les and chosen mediums would each capture the mood and movement of this beautiful spot in Cornwall. My version focuses on the depth and drama of the falls, using layered glazes and rich earth tones to bring out the texture of the rocks, the dappled light through fresh spring leaves and the energy of the tumbling water.
