Artist Statement A modern and feminine take on the biblical parable of the Good Samaritan! The painting comes off similar to a quilt, with pattern on pattern that nevertheless seem s to work together. The yellow balloons unify the work with their reception pattern that almost behaves like notes on a musical staff. At first glance this image appears to be happy and optimistic. Further evaluation reveals a deeper meaning. The injured girl, in her pain, shuts her eyes tight and can’t see the assistance of her friends and the beauty around her. If we are not mindful and paying attention, we can do the same in our lives. Show more
