Cracked amber under grey brick. The dial is mustard yellow, crazed all over with fine lines like old glaze. A raven perches on a stub of branch with its claws wrapped right around it, head and breast in black, wings and tail shading into violet and lilac. One small tail feather comes out orange and green. The border is built from grey stone blocks laid like a tower parapet, and the Roman numerals are heavy black slabs. The whole moulded look, feathers and brickwork alike, is printed flat rather than sculpted. The yellow makes it louder than most gothic wall pieces, so it lands better on a dark or brick wall than a pale one. A good gift for someone building a corvid corner, or for a study where a plain black clock would simply disappear.
