The new HD style is highly recommended in most applications, to give you peace of mind to take more abuse. HD (4-bolt) - recommended for all "permanent" mounted offroad/motorcycle/automotive GPS units, such as Trail Tech Voyager Pro, Garmin Montana, or similar. Original (2-bolt) - recommended for small, lightweight handheld GPS units only, for example Garmin eTrex (though not all docks for those style of units use AMPS bolt pattern, please verify before purchasing) A high-quality billet machined panel for mounting GPS units (and other accessories that use the AMPS bolt pattern standard) to the C3 FORCEFIELD NXT Handguards / top clamps.
